Thornhill has a well-resourced private funds practice within our broader Private Capital offering.

Our work spans structuring, formation, marketing and ongoing operation, and we work closely with colleagues across Financial Services Regulation, Finance, Tax, Employment and Corporate to design efficient structures and implement carry, co-investment and team incentivisation arrangements.

We act on closed-ended, open-ended and hybrid or evergreen vehicles, and regularly structure funds domestically as well as in established offshore centres. Our clients range from global institutions raising successor funds to first-time sponsors establishing a platform for the first time, and we combine deep technical knowledge with a clear view of prevailing market terms.

In addition to our sponsor-side practice, we advise institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds and family offices on their primary fund investment programmes, co-investments and secondaries — giving us a rounded view of the market from both sides of the table.
